Complimentary Cookery

There's a woman in my 'hood who's been running a holiday cookie exchange for a few years. Last year she actually invited me to join—not my wife, ME! She found out that I liked to bake and tossed my name into the hat with 23 other women to form four groups of six. I was rather flattered to be included.
The actual exchange night is a party where all the husbands are welcome and we swap goods and imbibe heavily. The event is quite a party, actually, and the cookies are the icing on the cake (so to speak).
But that's not the only head-swell—this year I've heard that some of the other bakers have requested to be in my group of six. How about that? (As if I needed more ego-boosting!) Actual people enjoyed (or heard tell of such pastry prowess from those who have previously enjoyed) my bakery wonders and now wish to sample my wares. Well, the pressure is certainly on now.
My, if my head gets any bigger, I'm going to need a new hat.

You continually crack me up with the size of your noggin. Cookie away!

But... I thought last year's welsh thingys were a dud. That was just false modesty, eh?

My swap in next Tues. I was in the 2nd round of invitees, so every recipe I thought of initially has been spoken for already.

Ah, you lucky duck. I burnt all of my cookies intended for last year's cookie exchange and have been cordially not invited back.
Not that I wanted to go. Stupid jerks.

Be careful, or next year's bloggy cookie exchange (I don't know that one exists, but it SHOULD) we'll all be scrambling to be in your group.

So what do you make? My sister and I did two kinds of shortbreads and a bunch of 'skor bars' and peppermint bark and peanut butter marshmallow squares and such on Sunday. All day.

So where can I get some special Den Guy cookies? I hear they are pretty yummy... I'll exchange you some for UrbanMummy yummy oats and choc chip cookies.

Are you a better baker, or goalie?!?

All right you. I finally started writing again because I was feeling sort of bad about you just having to re-read my last entry from August.

Now where you at?

I recently came accross your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don't know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.
