About the Names
I've been asked, Why "The Bug"?
The answer is simple, really. She was our first child and one morning as I was getting ready for work (back when I had a "real" job), The Woo pointed and said to me: "Look, there's a bug in our bed."
The Bug was only a few months old and she curled herself up into a ball in the middle of our bed. She was so tiny; so fragile. From that moment on I called her my Baby Bug. Of course she's no longer a baby, so I changed it to The Bug.
Her real name is of Greek origin, although neither my wife nor I have any Greek background, we just liked the name. It's also the name of a famous singer.
Boyo is simply because he's my boy and I'm half Welsh. His real name is a Welsh name, but I used the English spellingI didn't want him to have to correct people all his life.
Being such a manly-man myself, I wanted my son to have a strong name, a name befitting the conquering hero that I know he'll be.
And The Woo, well, I successfully wooed her didn't I?

11 Folks say:
from how I've heard you tell it, let alone write about your....exploits, it is she who wooed you.
I think Boyo really loves me you know. I saw that smile. well. sorta. maybe.
I love the names. Especially Bug.
It's always nice to hear how people get their nicknames. Newborns kinda do look like bugs, eh? Or maybe frogs.
I'm naming my future son Gwar - no matter what the wife says.
The Woo. I love that.
Oh, you manly-man. How will Boyo ever measure up?
Dude, if you named your daughter Shania, I'm gonna cry myself to sleep.
My eldest has an Irish name with an Irish spelling, and yes, we are constantly correcting people. We do it very politely and knew this was going to be an issue. But I never expected people to know how to say it or how to spell it - but I thought people would merely ask NOT RANDOMLY STRING A BUNCH OF SOUNDS OR LETTERS TOGETHER! Pfftt.
Okay thanks for letting me get that out. Better here than in real life directed at his substitute teacher.
Did you really woo her, or did she just let you think you wooed her?
Now I want you to start spelling Boyo with a few more "w"s and "y"s and do you think you could put an umlaut over one of the letters in Bug?
They are lovely names, all of them.
Yep. Lovely.
Love those explanations. Especially The Woo! :)
